The 2nd part of the piece on music PR tips I was asked to write by the brilliant team at Synchtank's Synchblog. Discussed some of this advice in a masterclass I delivered to students studying at ACM's Metropolis Studios campus yesterday. Very inspiring group of emerging artists..

On 18th December Qatar celebrates its National Day, marking 47 years of independence from its status as a British protectorate. Perhaps this is an opportune moment to take a look at elements of an often misunderstood Gulf state that tends to get ignored in the shadow of its brasher and more familiar neighbours.

Mulling over the epic scale of Sónar, in my old home town of stunning Barcelona, I am again reinvigorated by the unifying power of music. The festival sites stage a much more international pool of talent than can be found at some other European festivals, especially the British ones.
Leaving Cannes looking out over the magnificent vista of gently bobbing yachts on the glistening Mediterranean after another great MIDEM I feel a sense of rejuvenated faith in the fantastic, passionate people who drive our music industry ecosystem, from students to CEOs.
Fantastic to be back in Cannes for the 51st MIDEM. As ever, within minutes of arriving, I met some brilliant new contacts from the international music industry community, set up some exciting meetings, got invited to a couple of parties and bumped into lovely friends.
Huge respect to everyone who came out to the fantastic K-Music Showcase at Borderline last night. Thanks to the staff, crew & audience who made my job promoting & event managing this one a joy.
