The incredible Peter Gabriel has also been awarded an In Place of War Fellowship in recognition of his immeasurable impact throughout his career. Awarded by existing Fellow and long-term In Place of War supporter Brian Eno, Peter joins existing fellows Laurie Anderson, Mary Eavers, Maxine Peake, Nitin Sawhney & Run The Jewels.

Peter is a musician with a passion for human rights. He is a founder of Womad, bringing music and art from around the world to festivals in over 40 countries; WITNESS (integrating Human Rights with technology); and The Elders with Richard Branson, bringing together a group of highly respected leaders, launched by Nelson Mandela. Having improvised with bonobo apes, Peter was blown away by their musicality and intelligence, and got the Interspecies Internet project going to explore the possibilities of non-human intelligence, and bringing many other species online. In 2006, in recognition of his human rights work, he received the Man of Peace award from the Nobel Peace Prize laureates.

We are so excited for Peter to join us as an In Place of War Fellow and we can't wait to being working together.
